Pat Pfaller
Pat is a co-director at Northside Out Chicago VBC.  Pat has coached volleyball at the club level, high school, grammar school, and park district for the past 16 seasons.  He has played volleyball, both court and beach, all his life.  Pat has strength in coaching team sports as he has also coached baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer at several levels for over 26 seasons.  He brings his knowledge, strength, and experience in all areas of the game to help build cohesive teams that can produce results.  Pat believes that the most motivating aspect of coaching has been to see the accomplishments of the players and their growth in the love of the game. He is committed to teaching, inspiring, and supporting each athlete as they grow in the sport.   Pat hopes to continue to build a strong program that the coaches, players, and families are proud to be a part of.
 
Lori Gatta
Lori is a co-director at Northside Out Chicago VBC.

Norman Kwong 

Norman is the 15U Black coach for Northside Out Chicago VBC. Norman also runs the Northside Out Chicago VBC beach clinics. He is in his eighth season at Northside Out Chicago VBC previously coaching multiple age groups. Norman has over 30 years of volleyball experience, playing and coaching in numerous venues throughout Chicago. He has coached volleyball at all levels from 5th Grade up to NCAA Division I., as well as 12U to 18U, at the Club Level. He enjoys challenging his players at any level, finding great joy in seeing them excel. He earned a Master of Science Degree from Northeastern Illinois University for Cardiac Rehabilitation and Exercise Physiology, and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Sports Medicine.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing volleyball whether it be indoors, on the grass, or in the sand.

Mike Oswald

Mike is the 17U coach for Northside Out Chicago VBC. This is his seventh season coaching at Northside Out Chicago and he also has several years of experience at other clubs. Mike is an Assistant Men's and Women's Volleyball Coach at Illinois Tech. Mike has previously volunteered as an assistant coach at Chicago State University. Mike has also coached at the high school level and was recently a Club Director and Coach Former Coach of the men's college club team. He was a graduate Assistant at Temple in A10 Conference. He was also in the NCAA Hay Division Champion in EIVA (ESU '06).

Chris Dawson
Chris is currently coaching the 14u Black Team at Northside Out Chicago VBC. This is his seventh season coaching at Northside Out Chicago previously coaching multiple age groups.

Ellen Weiss-Iwanski
Ellen is currently coaching the 17u Pink Team at Northside Out Chicago VBC. This is her sixth season coaching at Northside Out Chicago previously coaching multiple age groups. Ellen also coaches volleyball at the grade school level for the past several years.

Deana Sannicandro
Deana is currently coaching the 16u Black team at Northside Out Chicago VBC. This is her third season coaching at Northside Out Chicago VBC.

Gianna Sannicandro

Gianna is currently coaching the 14u Pink team and assisting with the 16U Black team at Northside Out Chicago VBC. This is her third season coaching at Northside Out Chicago VBC.

​Christina Gatta
Christina is currently coaching the 12u team at Northside Out Chicago VBC. Christina plays in the NCAA DIV III at North Park College as a setter and outside hitter. Christina played at Northside Out Chicago VBC from 12u through 18u and transitioned to coaching three seasons ago. She was a 4-year High School player at Resurrection College Prep as a setter and outside Hitter.

Taylor Pfaller

Taylor is currently coaching the 15u Pink team at Northside Out Chicago VBC. Taylor played at Northside Out Chicago VBC from 12u through 18u and transitioned to coaching at Northside Out Chicago VBC three seasons ago. She played in the NJCAA DIV III at Harper College as the starting setter. She was a 4-year High School player at Saint Viator playing multiple positions as a setter, DS, and libero. This past season she was also an assistant volleyball coach at Harper College. 

Rhys Green

Rhys is currently coaching the 16u Pink team at Northside Out Chicago VBC. This is his second season coaching at Northside Out Chicago VBC. Rhys has also coached at other clubs and also at the high school level.

Wanda Fleming

Wanda is currently coaching the 13U team at Northside Out Chicago VBC. This is her second season coaching at Northside Out Chicago VBC. Wanda has coached volleyball and multiple other sports at the grade school level.

Danny Donovan

Danny is currently coaching the 16u White team at Northside Out Chicago VBC. This is his first season coaching at Northside Out Chicago VBC. Danny has played throughout high school at St. Patrick's and club at Powerhouse VBC (now Chicago Elite). He has assisted in coaching several youth volleyball clinics and camps.

At Northside Out Chicago VBC we strive to provide an excellent coaching staff that can implement current strategies and coaching techniques in a positive environment to develop competitive volleyball teams. We dedicate ourselves to constant improvement of our staff and athletes. We understand that it takes a commitment from the athlete, their family, and the club to work together to achieve the best possible results for each club member.

Our coaches have many years of experience playing, coaching and refereeing the game of volleyball at many different levels. Coaches are also required to have been trained through the USA Volleyball certification process. All coaches have been cleared through background checks administered by USA Volleyball.
